Discription on activities
Monday
Arrival: Students will wash their hands upon arrival. Then, they will check their feelings by choosing how they feel that day. Then they will pick an activity such as block building, drawing, puzzles, or playing with manipulatives.
Morning Circle: Students will gather on the carpet and join in a good-morning song. We will greet every student by name and see who came to school. We will also do the calendar and check the weather. Also, introduce the day's topic or theme.
Centers/Small Group: Students will choose any center they want, whether it's Housekeeping, blocks, science, art, reading, writing, sensory bin, or Math. This is also when the teacher will indicate a small group by doing a craft or a recognition game.
Snack Time: Students will first wash their hands and then sit at the table to eat a healthy snack. While eating a snack, students will practice their social skills by interacting with peers at their table.
Outdoor Play: Students will engage in gross motor activities such as running, climbing, digging, and riding bicycles. This is where students can use their imagination to play.
Lunch: Students will wash their hands and then eat a healthy meal. They will also work on independence by serving themselves family style.
Quiet Time: This is the time when students choose a quiet activity and prepare for nap time. This could be reading a book, making a puzzle, or playing with sensory mats.
Nap Time: Students can choose to sleep, continue their quiet activity, or lie down quietly on their mat while listening to relaxing music.
Closing Circle: This could be singing songs with instruments or dancing with music.
Dismissal: Sing a goodbye song, then they will pack up their belongings and get ready to go home. This is the time the teacher can engage with parents during pickup by letting them know how their day went.
Tuesday
Arrival: Students will follow the same routine they used on Monday to start their day.
Morning Circle: Students will gather on the carpet and join in a good-morning song. We will greet every student by name and see who came to school. We will also do the calendar and check the weather. On this day, they will read a book related to the theme we are discussing that week.
Centers/Small Group: Teacher will focus on the Math and Science center, work with those students, and lead a small group related to Math and Science.
Snack Time: Students will first wash their hands and then sit at the table to eat a healthy snack. The teacher will talk about manners, such as saying 'please' and 'thank you'. The student will work on manners during this time by saying, "May I please have more snacks?"
Outdoor Play: Students will engage in gross motor activities such as running, climbing, digging, and riding bicycles. There will be a race; students will race each other to see who is the fastest. Students will also learn that it is all right to lose.
Lunch: Students will follow the same routine as the day before and discuss which foods are healthy and which are not.
Quiet Time: Students will engage in a book exploration. Students will pick books and read them quietly on their mats.
Nap Time: Students can choose to sleep, continue their quiet activity, or lie down quietly on their mat while listening to relaxing music.
Closing Circle: Students play with playdough and make something creative. Teachers can take pictures to post on ClassDojo for parents to see.
Dismissal: Students will follow the same routine to ensure a smooth transition.
Wednesday
Arrival: Students will follow the same routine, then choose an activity that focuses on regulating their emotions and social skills.
Morning Circle: Students will gather on the carpet and join in a good-morning song. We will greet every student by name and see who came to school. We will also do the calendar and check the weather. Then we will do a group activity related to science, such as discussing a life cycle or a season.
Centers/Small Group: Teacher will focus on the Reading and Writing center, work with those students, and lead a small group in Reading and Writing.
Snack Time: Students will first wash their hands and then sit at the table to eat a healthy snack. Students take turns being snack helpers, and they will interact with their peers at their table
Outdoor Play: Students will engage in gross motor activities such as running, climbing, digging, and riding bicycles. Students will have free play to be creative and express themselves through imaginative play.
Lunch: Students will follow the same routine, continue to discuss good manners, and interact with their peers at the table.
Quiet Time: Students will engage in a book exploration. Students will pick a book and read it quietly on their mats, or they can do an exercise to relax.
Nap Time: Students can choose to sleep, continue their quiet activity, or lie down quietly on their mat while listening to relaxing music.
Closing Circle: Getting different types of materials to build a bridge. This will work on STEM.
Dismissal: Students will follow the same routine to ensure a smooth transition.
Thrusday
Arrival: Students will follow the same routine, then choose an activity that focuses on greetings and interaction skills.
Morning Circle: Students will gather on the carpet and join in a good-morning song. We will greet every student by name and see who came to school. We will also do the calendar and check the weather. Show-and-tell: students bring something unique they like and share it with the class, related to the week's theme.
Centers/Small Group: Teacher will focus on the Art center. Taking out different materials and watching what students make out of them. This works on expressing themselves through creativity.
Snack Time: Students will first wash their hands and then sit at the table to eat a healthy snack. Students will identify which fruits and vegetables are.
Outdoor Play: Students will engage in gross motor activities such as running, climbing, digging, and riding bicycles.
Lunch: Students will follow the same routine, discuss what trash is and what is for recycling, and why it is important.
Quiet Time: Students will engage in a book exploration. Have students listen to music and write in their journal or draw.
Nap Time: Students can choose to sleep, continue writing or drawing in their journals, or lie down quietly on their mats while listening to relaxing music.
Closing Circle: Students can do a quick cooking activity focused on sequences. What comes first, second, and third?
Dismissal: Students will follow the same routine to ensure a smooth transition.
Friday

Outdoor Play: Students will engage in gross motor activities such as running, climbing, digging, and riding bikes.
Lunch: Students will follow the same routine: they will talk about their week and interact with each other.
Quiet Time: Students will choose a quiet activity to do, relax, and get ready for nap time
Nap Time: Students can choose to sleep, or students who do not want to sleep can do a quiet activity such as a puzzle, read a book, or lie down quietly on their mats while listening to relaxing music.
